Class C motorhomes are the "best of both worlds" option. They are not the largest and they are not the smallest. This middle-of-the-road RV is a popular choice for families. Read on to learn more!

The Size

Class C motorhomes will usually be between 25 and 30 feet long. It's common for these campers to include a feature known as a slideout.

The slideout allows the RV to change size. Keep the Class C motorhome smaller for easier storage and transportation. Once you arrive at the campground, the slideouts can expand in order to increase the RV's interior space. This helps promote a comfortable vacation without dealing with the hassles that can come with larger campers.

The Design

At first glance, a Class C motorhome looks like a truck. Most models are actually built with a truck chassis. The driving cab is built separate from the rest of the motorhome and the unique cab-over profile leads to a bit of extra space. This can be used for storage or even to provide an extra sleeping space.

The Passenger Capacity

Class C motorhomes tend to fit between four and eight people, making them a great option for mid-sized groups.

The Road Trip Experience

The mid-sized nature of Class C motorhomes leads to moderately good fuel economy. They aren't as heavy as the larger RVs, but they are also not the most compact and lightweight.

The handling of a Class C motorhome is easy to learn. That's partly because their center of gravity is similar to a standard commuter vehicle.
